Around the World in 80 Days - TY Play 2015

Around the World in 80 Days!
Lights, camera, action! This explosive action comedy starring an all-star cast of actors from Transition Year premiered for its night last Wednesday, the story which follows the adventures of Phileas Fogg and Passepartout as they travel around the world to save an orphanage and its under-developed facilities from being knocked down by the dreadful Reform club led by the cunning Marmaduke is a delightful and hilarious adaptation of the Jules Verne classic.

The cast comprised of the class of 4A and 4B working as the characters, extras and the many others who never make it to the stage. It was an amazing night as they performed the play in front of an audience of adults and children for the night. The cast although slightly nervous faced the crowd with their months of preparation and delivered what was seen by an enthusiastic crowd as a Steller performance. This is one experience that St. Brendan’s students will not forget!

We were all very nervous on the night of the play, none of us knew what to expect when we stepped onstage and the cheers and whistles that greeted us nearly knocked us of our feet, meanwhile behind the scenes the sound and light technicians as well as the set designers worked hard to ensure the play ran as fluidly as possible when the actors performed. It was a joy to see the play go so successfully and without too much problems. There shall certainly be much to learn from this experience

Anton-Passepartout

It was great, easily one of the best experiences I've had in TY. I've always wanted to do acting but never really got the chance but doing the play let me become the person I really wanted to be: A half Japanese man half Indian woman.
